Yuhan launches Elena Dual probiotic for vaginal and gut health

Yuhan is launching Elena Dual, a new probiotic designed to support both vaginal and gut health in women simultaneously.

Elena Dual combines two probiotics in a single capsule — UREX Probiotics, a leading strain for women's vaginal health, and BB-12 Probiotics, a globally recognized gut health strain. The company said the product is designed to provide comprehensive gut health management for the whole family, not only for women.

The core ingredient, UREX, is a patented blend of Lactobacillus rhamnosus GR-1 and Lactobacillus reuteri RC-14. It is an individually recognized ingredient that received the first-ever approval from the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety for a vaginal health functionality claim in South Korea.

The bifidobacterium BB-12 in the formulation is the world's most extensively researched beneficial gut bacterium. More than 200 SCI-level papers and numerous human clinical trials have demonstrated its efficacy in improving gut health — including promoting the growth of beneficial bacteria, suppressing harmful bacteria and supporting regular bowel movements. It is also notable for its strong survival rate through the digestive tract, allowing it to reach the intestines intact.

"Consumer preference has recently been shifting toward all-in-one products that address multiple concerns at once, rather than single-function products, which is why we are introducing this new product," Yuhan said.
