Contains maximum daily intake of lauric acid and octacosanol
Ildong Pharmaceutical has launched a new health functional food called Ildong Ssopallito Poten.
The product focuses on prostate health and endurance. The saw palmetto fruit extract, which may help maintain prostate health, is processed using a supercritical extraction method to eliminate residual solvents, improving safety. The lauric acid content is set at 115 mg per capsule, in line with the maximum daily intake recommended by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety.
The octacosanol-containing oil, a functional ingredient that may help improve endurance, is also formulated at the maximum content — 40 mg of octacosanol per capsule — in accordance with the ministry's daily intake guidelines.
The product also contains zinc, which supports normal immune function and cell division, and manganese, which helps protect cells from harmful oxygen and supports energy metabolism. Ildong said the formula further includes a range of functional ingredients: vitamin B2 for energy production, vitamin B6 for protein and amino acid utilization, and pantothenic acid for carbohydrate, protein and fat metabolism as well as energy use.
"In addition to the functional ingredients, supplementary ingredients such as pumpkin seed oil — 600 mg per capsule — are also included," a company official said. "We plan to distribute the product primarily through health functional food sections at pharmacies."
