Dongdaemun-gu Publishes Best-Practice Casebook on Integrated Case Management

Dongdaemun-gu in Seoul has published a best-practice casebook titled "Hamkke Georeo Joeun Gil" ("A Good Path Walked Together") to promote integrated case management built on public-private cooperation and deliver tailored welfare services to residents facing complex hardships.

The casebook compiles 26 outstanding integrated case management cases drawn from public and private welfare settings. By category, five cases come from the district office, 10 from neighborhood community centers and 11 from social welfare organizations within the district.

Each case offers a detailed account of the process and outcomes involved in supporting residents dealing with a range of difficulties, including financial hardship, housing instability, health issues and caregiving needs.

The casebook places particular emphasis on inter-agency coordination during the case management process and the delivery of tailored services that account for each client's needs and circumstances, conveying frontline experience in vivid detail.

The support process and collaborative efforts are organized systematically so that practitioners can use the publication as a practical reference. Public-private case management events and key joint projects are also included, offering a broad look at the activities and achievements of the district's case management network.

The district plans to distribute 100 copies to case management-related organizations, including autonomous districts across Seoul, neighborhood community centers in Dongdaemun-gu, the district council and local welfare institutions. The distribution aims to spread best practices and strengthen the case management capabilities of frontline workers.

Dongdaemun-gu District Mayor Choi Dong-min said he hoped the casebook would give public and private case management practitioners a chance to share their experience and strengthen inter-agency cooperation. "We will continue to provide the tailored welfare services that residents facing complex hardships need, and work together with the community to build a tightly woven welfare safety net," he said.
