A South Korean man swept away by floodwaters in Thailand has been confirmed dead.
The South Korean Embassy in Thailand, working with local authorities, identified the body of a man believed to be South Korean and confirmed his nationality, according to Yonhap.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said it is "providing necessary consular assistance, including notifying the bereaved family of the death."
According to local media reports, around 5 a.m. Thursday, one of three men walking along a flooded road in the Nong Prue area near Pattaya in Chonburi Province, central Thailand, fell into a drainage canal and went missing.
The victim's body was found in a severely decomposed state by a local fisherman around 6 p.m. Sunday — three days after he disappeared.
