Son Heung-min (34, LAFC) scored his 58th international goal Monday, equaling the all-time South Korea scoring record set by former national team head coach Cha Bum-kun.
Son netted a consolation goal in the 80th minute of a friendly against Uruguay at Seoul World Cup Stadium, with South Korea trailing 0-4 at the time.
The goal was Son's 58th in 149 appearances for the national team, drawing him level with Cha's record for the most international goals by a South Korean.
Son had pulled within one of the record Thursday, scoring an additional goal in the 58th minute as South Korea led Ecuador 1-0 at Suwon World Cup Stadium. He matched the mark just one game later.
