Daegu Haany University signed a mutual cooperation agreement with Dudeoji Project Co. at the industry-academia cooperation center on its Oseong Campus on Sept. 14.
The signing ceremony was attended by Kang Ji-woong, head of Daegu Haany University's industry-academia cooperation foundation; Hwang Su-jeong, director of the innovative small business AI utilization support project; Hong Ju-yeon, head of the hotel, food service, culinary arts and bakery department; and Professor Lee Shin-woo, along with Lee Won-jung, chief executive of Dudeoji Project, and Deputy Chief Executive Lee Young-lin.
Under the agreement, the two institutions will pursue cooperation on the K-Medi Silk Road project and overseas expansion, joint events and collaborative initiatives, personnel network sharing, joint use of education and research equipment and facilities, and information and data sharing, among other industry-academia projects.
Daegu Haany University plans to link its education and research infrastructure with Dudeoji Project's food and beverage brand development and field commercialization capabilities to transform regional food culture and food resources into K-Food content, then expand that work into a global industry-academia partnership tied to the K-Medi Silk Road initiative.
The university will use the agreement as a springboard to strengthen industry-academia cooperation connecting the local food and restaurant industry with its education and research capabilities, while advancing the commercialization prospects of regional companies and building students' practical field experience.
"We will expand company-linked field education and industry-academia cooperation programs so that students can directly experience the industry — from menu and product development to brand planning, commercialization and global expansion," said Hwang Su-jeong, director of the innovative small business AI utilization support project at Daegu Haany University.
