Daegu Children's World to stage classical family musical 'Mozart's Magic Violin'

Daegu Children's World will stage the classical family musical Mozart's Magic Violin at the Kkoekkori Theater on Monday at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m., the organization announced Tuesday.

The performance is part of the family bonding program under the "Smart Minds" track of Kids Campus, a family education project run through the Daegu Metropolitan Office of Education's education development special zone initiative.

The show follows a young protagonist named Hana, who encounters an eccentric old man at a flea market and unravels the secrets of Mozart hidden within a violin.

Two actors and five musicians will perform live renditions of Mozart's best-known works, including Variations on "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star," Symphony No. 40 and the opera The Magic Flute.

Each performance runs approximately 60 minutes, is open to all ages and is free of charge.

Choi Hui-jae, acting director of the Daegu Happiness Promotion Agency, said the organization is actively supporting local children in experiencing a wide range of arts and culture through the education development special zone project so they can grow in a well-rounded way. "We hope this performance will be a meaningful occasion for parents and children to enjoy classical music together and connect more deeply," Choi said.

Meanwhile, Daegu Children's World has been operated by the Daegu Happiness Promotion Social Service Agency under a mandate from the city of Daegu since 2026, offering a diverse range of culture, arts and hands-on programs for children and families.
