Man in his 30s caught after hiding in women's restroom at hospital, attempting to grope woman

A man in his 30s has been arrested after hiding in a women's restroom at a general hospital and attempting to grope a woman in her 20s.

The Cheongju Sangdang Police Station in North Chungcheong Province said it has apprehended and is investigating a man identified only as A on charges of trespassing in a public facility for sexual purposes after he entered a women's restroom at a general hospital and attempted to grope a woman.

A is accused of attempting to touch a woman in her 20s, identified only as B, inside a women's restroom on the first below-ground floor of a general hospital in Cheongju on Sunday morning.

A had hidden inside a restroom stall for about 10 minutes before carrying out the attempted assault. He fled after a staff member shouted, but police apprehended him about 11 hours later.

During questioning, A told investigators he "had no intention of committing sexual assault."
