Ulsan, Daegu city councils exchange legislative experience

The Culture, Welfare and Environment Committee of the Ulsan City Council and the Economy and Environment Committee of the Daegu City Council held a roundtable at the Ulsan City Council on Wednesday, sharing information on their respective standing committee operations and exploring ways to strengthen inter-council exchange and advance legislative practice.

The Daegu delegation comprised 16 people — seven committee members, including Economy and Environment Committee Chairman Park Jong-pil, and nine accompanying civil servants. After the roundtable, the group toured Taehwagang National Garden, the country's second national garden.

At the session, the Ulsan City Council's Culture, Welfare and Environment Committee presented key environmental issues on its agenda: preparations for the 2028 Ulsan International Garden Expo venue, securing an alternative water source for Sayeon Dam, construction of a metropolitan recycling public sorting facility, and the Yeocheon sewage treatment plant project.

"Through this roundtable with the Daegu City Council, we had the opportunity to share our legislative experiences and strengthen our capacity to translate issues closely tied to residents' daily lives into policy," said Committee Chairman Kwon Tae-ho.
