About 160 US sales staff gather to review second-half execution strategy and collaboration
Company looks to add new products to direct sales network, build 'global epilepsy franchise'
Formulation expansion and broader prescribing targets pursued alongside portfolio diversification
SK Biopharm is moving to accelerate growth of its epilepsy drug cenobamate and transition to a multi-product model, using its US direct sales network as the foundation for the shift.
SK Biopharm's US subsidiary SK Life Science held its "2026 Plan of Action" (POA) meeting in Chicago, Illinois, from Monday to Wednesday, bringing together field staff to strengthen execution capabilities and commercial operations for sustained growth in the US market, the company said Friday.
The POA meeting is a regular event at which sales personnel from pharmaceutical and biotech companies gather to review business performance and market conditions and share forward-looking execution strategies.
Since launching cenobamate — sold in the US under the brand name Xcopri — in 2020, SK Life Science has held an annual National Sales Meeting (NSM) early each year to align on sales strategy and targets, while using the second-half POA to assess progress and sharpen field execution plans.
This year's meeting was held under the same "We Will" theme as the NSM in February, with the aim of encouraging proactive execution and growth among staff and putting the "One Team" strategy into practice — aligning the parent company and its US subsidiary around a single direction and set of priorities.
About 160 people, primarily from the US sales force, attended the event to review first-half results and market developments. Discussions covered execution plans for sustaining growth in the second half, as well as ways to expand and leverage local commercial capabilities in preparation for future product additions.
The POA meeting is particularly significant in the context of SK Biopharm's medium- to long-term strategy to move beyond growth from cenobamate alone and transform its US direct sales infrastructure into a multi-product platform.
The company plans to build a "global epilepsy franchise" by using the sales, marketing and market-access capabilities it has developed through cenobamate to continuously add new products and make fuller use of its existing sales organization.
SK Biopharm also plans to expand growth opportunities for cenobamate itself, pursuing new formulations such as an oral suspension and broadening its prescribing base to include pediatric patients and those with primary generalized tonic-clonic seizures. The company intends to pursue new product additions in parallel, seeking growth both in individual products and across its overall portfolio.
The event reflects the company's broader plan to maximize the value of its proven US direct sales network by bringing new products to market quickly, reducing dependence on a single drug and building an independent global epilepsy franchise.
"The sales organization we built directly in the US is the most powerful execution base behind cenobamate's growth," SK Biopharm President Lee Dong-hoon said. "What matters now is not letting that strength stop at cenobamate, but extending it to the next product and new growth opportunities."
