A 1-ton truck rear-ended two passenger vehicles near the Gunja Junction on the Pyeongtaek-Siheung Expressway in Wolgot-dong, Siheung, Gyeonggi Province, at around 10:30 a.m. Saturday, heading toward Incheon.
The truck's driver, a man in his 50s, died in the crash, fire department officials said. Three others — the drivers of the two struck vehicles and a passenger — sustained minor injuries and were taken to a nearby hospital.
Police believe the truck, traveling in the first lane, failed to slow down amid traffic congestion and are investigating the exact circumstances of the crash.
