KB Golden Life experiential event draws nearly 600 visitors over two days
Senior brand covers retirement asset management, health, care and beyond
"9.98 seconds — so close!"
The exclamation rang out Saturday afternoon at the KB Kookmin Bank booth inside Art Hall 1 of Dongdaemun Design Plaza in Seoul, where Herald Money Festa 2026 was underway. A participant pressed a button, and the scoreboard froze — just 0.02 seconds short of the target of exactly 10.00 seconds. Groans of sympathy rippled through the line of visitors waiting their turn.
The game is KB Kookmin Bank's "Catch the Time" event. Participants press a button to stop a timer at precisely 10.00 seconds from zero; those who nail it win a premium flower tea. Each participant gets two attempts.
The game may look like a simple timing challenge, but it carries a deeper message tied to KB Golden Life — the senior brand of KB Financial Group. Just as life has its seasons, the bank says, retirement planning, asset management, health and caregiving all have a "golden time" that must not be missed.
Visitors responded warmly. The event ran three times a day in one-hour sessions, yet lines formed the moment each session opened, and supplies of prizes ran out ahead of schedule on multiple occasions. Nearly 600 people visited the booth over the two-day event.
By around 3 p.m. on the second and final day of the festival, only three premium flower teas remained for participants who stopped the timer at exactly 10.00 seconds. Staff on the floor even discussed whether to cut each participant's attempts from two to one to keep up with the crowd.
"For the senior generation, life after retirement is not simply a time to rest — it is a new golden time in which they complete their own values and happiness," a KB Kookmin Bank official said. "We prepared the 'Catch the Time' event to convey our support and our commitment to stand by customers so they do not miss this precious period and can enjoy it to the fullest."
The official added that timing is everything when it comes to retirement preparation, asset management and health care. "Through an intuitive game of pressing a button at a set target time, we wanted to naturally deliver the message that catching the golden time is the key to retirement planning — and that it starts with KB Kookmin Bank," the official said.
KB Golden Life is KB Financial Group's senior financial brand, covering not only post-retirement financial asset management but also health, nursing and care services across all aspects of later life. At the Money Festa booth, KB Kookmin Bank used the event as a gateway to introduce visitors to KB Golden Life's services and to share guidance on retirement and later-life asset management.
Now in its third year, Herald Money Festa 2026 ran Friday through Saturday at DDP Art Hall 1 under the theme "Money Rebalancing: Recalibrating the Weight of Your Assets."
