A civic concert titled "Into the New World" will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 15 at the Seoul Arts Center's main theater to celebrate the 100th day since the launch of the South Jeolla-Gwangju Special City.
The South Jeolla-Gwangju United Orchestra — made up of members from the South Jeolla-Gwangju Municipal Symphony Orchestra, the Mokpo Municipal Symphony Orchestra and Camerata Jeonnam — will perform at the event.
Pianist Son Se-hyeok will perform as soloist in Liszt's Piano Concerto No. 1. The program also includes Choi Seong-hwan's "Arirang Fantasy," tenor Lee Jae-sik performing "Namchon" and "Nessun Dorma," and the fourth movement of Dvorak's Symphony No. 9, "From the New World."
The concert is open to elementary school students and older. Tickets are priced at 20,000 won ($15) for R-class seats and 10,000 won for S-class seats.
