North Gyeongsang Nonghyup held a communication forum at the Nonghyup Central Federation's North Gyeongsang branch on Friday, bringing together about 20 participants, including Agriculture and Fisheries Committee Chairman Lee Cheol-sik of the North Gyeongsang Provincial Assembly, eight other assembly members, and North Gyeongsang Nonghyup Head Kim Ju-won.
At the forum, Kim shared the organization's key initiatives and outlined major priorities for transforming North Gyeongsang's agricultural sector, including fostering the K-North Gyeongsang Food industry, expanding rural social safety nets and boosting farm household income through changes in agricultural work practices.
Participants then exchanged views on pressing challenges facing agriculture and rural communities, including responding to the threat of rural depopulation and raising farm household incomes.
"We will continue to work closely with the North Gyeongsang Provincial Assembly to advance the practical interests of farmers and build a sustainable agricultural sector and rural communities," Kim said.
