Garmin announced Wednesday the launch of the Approach S72, its flagship golf smartwatch featuring enhanced swing analytics and everyday usability.
The Approach S72 tracks real-time heart rate to monitor changes before and after each shot, and provides swing metrics including hand speed, backswing length and wrist rotation.
The watch also includes a green-reading feature that uses slope data to show the direction a putt will break and the average gradient of the green. After a round, users can review putting speed, directional bias and success rates through the Garmin Golf app.
The watch comes in 43mm and 47mm sizes, with an AMOLED display, titanium bezel and sapphire lens. It is the first Garmin golf smartwatch to include a built-in speaker and microphone, enabling calls and voice commands when paired with a smartphone. The 47mm model offers up to 20 hours of battery life in golf mode.
