Polestar 4 drives 688 registrations in September
Jan.–Sept. cumulative total of 3,719 surpasses full-year 2025 figure
281 units short of annual goal
Polestar 3 adds 81 registrations as new model gains traction
Polestar Korea posted its highest-ever monthly registration figure last month, as a delivery backlog for its flagship electric vehicle, the Polestar 4, cleared and the newly launched Polestar 3 SUV began reaching customers in earnest.
The company said Wednesday that new registrations in September totaled 769 units, according to data from the Korea Automobile Importers & Distributors Association (KAIDA) — the best monthly result since Polestar entered the Korean market.
Cumulative registrations for January through September reached 3,719 units, already surpassing the full-year 2025 total of 2,957. The company now needs just 281 more units to hit its annual target of 4,000.
The Polestar 4 led the charge, accounting for the bulk of September sales with 688 registrations. Its cumulative total for the first nine months of the year stands at 3,608 units.
Polestar Korea said the surge in September registrations came as a delivery backlog for the Polestar 4 was resolved. The mid-size electric vehicle, which blends coupe and SUV styling, remains the brand's primary sales driver in Korea.
The model lineup is also broadening. The Polestar 3, a flagship electric SUV launched in Korea in July, recorded 81 registrations in September.
The Polestar 3 has now completed domestic range certification for its rear-motor variant, completing its full sales lineup. With domestic sales previously concentrated on the Polestar 4, the company expects the broader lineup to lift overall volumes going forward.
Polestar Korea set an annual sales target of 4,000 units and has been simultaneously expanding its product range and physical retail presence. Alongside the Polestar 3 launch, it added customer touchpoints in key regions including Daegu and moved to strengthen its dealer network.
As part of that push, the company opened "Space Ilsan" in Ilsan, Goyang, Gyeonggi Province on Friday — its first showroom in northern Gyeonggi Province and its third in the province overall. The new location is designed to improve access for customers in northern Gyeonggi, including Goyang and Paju, as well as the northwestern parts of Seoul.
For the remainder of the year, Polestar Korea plans to continue Polestar 4 deliveries while ramping up Polestar 3 handovers in a bid to reach its annual target of 4,000 units.
