Supply deal signed with ERock
22-liter high-efficiency gas power generation engine long blocks — semi-finished units excluding fuel and ignition systems
Customer to use products to supply power to data centers
Company plans to actively target data center power generation engine market
HD Construction Equipment said Wednesday it has signed a supply contract with ERock, a US power infrastructure solutions company, for gas power generation engine long blocks.
The two-year deal runs from 2027 through 2028, with a total contract value of about 390 billion won ($290 million).
The products to be supplied are 22-liter high-efficiency gas power generation engine long blocks — semi-finished engine bodies that exclude fuel and ignition systems.
ERock will use the products to build generator set solutions that supply electricity to large-scale data centers operated by major US technology companies.
HD Construction Equipment said the deal solidifies its position in the North American data center market, marking its first large-scale contract for continuous-duty power generation engine long blocks in the region.
The company said demand for continuous power generation has grown as grid connection delays affect data centers, and that the contract validates the technical capability and reliability of its engines for extended continuous operation.
HD Construction Equipment plans to use this contract as a springboard to actively pursue the data center power generation engine market going forward.
Later this month, the company will establish a production system for ultra-large power generation engines in the 1 to 3 MW class, centered on its new engine factory in Gunsan, which is nearing completion.
The company plans to roll out a 37-liter (1.5 MW) ultra-large power generation engine in 2027 and a 77-liter (3 MW) model in 2028, sequentially expanding its lineup to meet demand for high-output power generation engines.
"We will continue to expand our presence in the global data center and distributed power generation markets," an HD Construction Equipment official said.
