Moksong Industrial Development has received the veteran-friendly employer certification for the fourth consecutive time.
The Gwangju Regional Office of Patriots and Veterans Affairs held a certificate presentation ceremony at the Moksong Group training center on Wednesday, during the 14th Veterans Week, which runs Monday through Sunday.
The Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs certifies companies that actively hire veterans and maintain strong employment environments, with the aim of helping veterans find jobs and settle into civilian life.
This year, 24 companies received new certifications and 24 others were recertified after a screening process. Moksong Industrial Development, which in 2019 became the only company in the Honam region to earn the certification, has now been recertified four consecutive times. Certifications are issued on a three-year cycle.
Moksong Industrial Development is the flagship subsidiary of Moksong Group, which operates businesses in housing management, mechanical facilities, security and cleaning services, worker dispatch and pest control. The company has hired more than 120 veterans to date, with 25 currently on staff. In September 2024, it received a commendation from the Minister of Patriots and Veterans Affairs for its contributions to veterans' reintegration into society and the creation of stable employment.
Jang Suk-nam, head of the Gwangju Regional Office of Patriots and Veterans Affairs, said veterans are "talented individuals who possess leadership, diligence, drive and a strong sense of responsibility developed through their military service," and called on businesses to continue supporting veterans' transition to civilian life.
Lee Myung-sik, chairman of Moksong Group, said the "unwavering sense of responsibility and leadership that veterans bring has been a great source of strength for our competitiveness," adding that the company would not rest on its fourth consecutive certification but would continue working to help veterans settle into society and create quality jobs.
