The Korea Enterprises Federation and the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions have each submitted labor policy proposals during tripartite social dialogue on the special act for mega special zones.

The Ministry of Employment and Labor said Thursday it held the third session of the working-level tripartite consultative body — tentatively titled "One-Point Social Dialogue on the Special Act for Mega Special Zones" — with participation from labor, management and related ministries. At the session, the Korea Enterprises Federation and the KCTU presented their respective proposals on labor policy for the mega special zones.

The meeting, held at the director-general level, was attended on the labor side by the Federation of Korean Trade Unions' head of policy and the KCTU's head of planning, and on the management side by a Korea Enterprises Federation director and a Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry division head.

From the government, director- and bureau-level officials from the Ministry of Employment and Labor, the Office for Government Policy Coordination, the Ministry of Economy and Finance and the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy took part. The Economic, Social and Labor Council also attended.

The fourth session of the working-level consultative body is scheduled for 4 p.m. on Wednesday.
