Neither wearing safety gear
Two men in their 70s were crushed by a kerosene tank near a greenhouse in Gwangyang-eup, Gwangyang, South Jeolla Province, at around 10:50 a.m. Saturday.
One of the men was transported to a hospital in cardiac arrest but was pronounced dead. The other sustained serious injuries and is receiving treatment at a hospital.
The accident occurred while three workers were moving a 2,300-liter kerosene tank using heavy equipment. None of them were wearing safety gear at the time, according to investigators.
Police believe the tank fell from the heavy equipment and are investigating the exact circumstances of the accident.
