10 outstanding local employees selected from four Vietnamese subsidiaries
Participants visit headquarters, research institute and construction sites
Daewoo Engineering & Construction invited top talent from its overseas subsidiaries to share business expertise and corporate culture.
Daewoo E&C announced Monday that it ran a headquarters training program for 10 outstanding employees from its Vietnam subsidiaries from Sept. 28 to Oct. 3.
The six-day program brought together high-performing local staff selected from four Vietnamese subsidiaries. Participants were chosen based on a combination of factors including length of service, company loyalty and job performance. The curriculum was designed to help them absorb South Korea's advanced work practices and practical know-how in key business areas — land compensation, construction management and pre-sales — and apply those lessons to their local operations.
Participants toured the Daewoo E&C headquarters and its Technology Research Institute, where they reviewed the company's major projects, work systems, and construction technology and research and development activities. They then visited the Prugio Radius Park construction site in Jangwi-dong, Seongbuk-gu, Seoul, to observe the housing construction process and on-site management practices. At the Han River Prugio Riverfront model house, they experienced firsthand the company's residential product development direction — including the latest floor plans, interior design, landscaping and community amenities. The group also took part in a cultural program visiting major tourist and heritage sites across South Korea to deepen their understanding of Korean society and culture.
Daewoo E&C said it plans to develop the program beyond a one-time reward into a global talent development initiative, building a virtuous cycle in which the headquarters and overseas subsidiaries continuously share experience and expertise to identify and nurture key local talent.
"For overseas business to grow sustainably, it is important to secure and develop outstanding local talent who can lead operations on the ground, alongside a deep understanding of local markets and cultures," a Daewoo E&C official said. "We hope this program gives participants a direct experience of Daewoo E&C's business capabilities and corporate culture, and serves as an opportunity for them to take pride in being part of a global organization."
The official added that the company would continue to identify top talent from overseas subsidiaries in Vietnam and around the world, and expand talent exchange and development programs. "We will strengthen our localization strategy by combining local expertise with Daewoo E&C's global business capabilities to enhance competitiveness in each region," the official said.
Meanwhile, Daewoo E&C carried out its first organizational restructuring since CEO Lee Kang-seok took the helm Thursday, sharpening its focus on strategically targeted businesses such as data centers and urban redevelopment while upgrading risk management capabilities for large-scale projects.
