Gwangju Arboretum in the Jeonnam-Gwangju Integrated Special City will run a weekend ecology program called "Autumn Forest, Ecological Adventure" every Saturday from Oct. 17 through Nov. 7.
The program centers on hands-on nature education, with participants walking through the arboretum to observe insects and fruits as they change with the season.
Sessions on Oct. 17 and Oct. 24 will focus on autumn insects, exploring their relationship with the surrounding ecosystem and how their activity and habitat shift with the changing season.
The Oct. 31 and Nov. 7 sessions will turn to autumn fruits, guiding participants through an exploration of tree and plant seeds to help them understand how plants reproduce.
Registration is open from Monday through Nov. 7 via the integrated special city's official website under the "Quick Reservation" section.
The program is open to elementary school students and older, whether attending individually or as a family. Children under 14 must be accompanied by a guardian. Each session accepts up to 20 participants, for a total of 80 spots across all four sessions. Walk-in registration on a first-come, first-served basis will be available if advance bookings fall short.
