Kolon Benit is moving beyond simply adopting AI to generating tangible business results, laying out a proactive strategy for corporate AI transformation, or AX, at a dedicated industry forum.

The company announced Tuesday that it held the Kolon Benit AX Boost Summit 2026 at Josae Seoul Dragon City in Yongsan-gu, Seoul.

The event is an annual gathering Kolon Benit has hosted since last year, bringing together discussions on the company's AX business vision and technology strategy. This year's summit centered on the theme of "customers' AX journey," with participants sharing execution strategies for turning AI into real business outcomes and case studies from industry settings. Kolon Benit CEO Kang I-gu and DX Division Head Jang Jae-yong were among those in attendance.

Jang opened by highlighting a gap between AI adoption and strategic readiness among domestic companies. "Fifty-eight percent of Korean companies are using AI, but only 27 percent have an AI strategy in place," he said. "The time has come to put AI to work on actual tasks and measure the results in numbers."

Jang also stressed the need for a phased approach to AX tailored to each company's scale. "When companies keep adding pilot projects that never connect with one another, it becomes an 'AI museum,'" he said. "Through scale-appropriate AX — expanding step by step in line with a company's size — the first results should justify the next round of investment on their own."

In a customer case study session, Hong Seong-hwa, head of the AX Innovation Center at Kolon Industries, presented specific AX initiatives and their outcomes. Representatives from SK Group AX, Seowoo Industries and Seowoo Advanced Materials also shared their respective AX experiences. During the afternoon session, attendees explored step-by-step AX solutions firsthand at large themed booths on the exhibition floor.

In his welcoming remarks, CEO Kang said adopting AI does not automatically raise productivity. "The key is how quickly a company can push through the performance plateau that comes with learning and validating new technology in the early stages of adoption," he said.

He added that companies must clearly define the boundary between what is delegated to AI and where human judgment is required. "We will accompany our customers throughout their entire AX journey — from identifying challenges to delivering business results," he said.
