Daegyeong University in Gyeongsan announced Tuesday that it has been selected for the Education Ministry's program to foster specialized leading junior colleges.

The designation will allow Daegyeong to build a training system for cultural content professionals, spanning performing arts through AI and digital content production.

The university plans to expand across three tracks — K-Performance, Stage Styling and Contents Production — while integrating AI and digital content production education with its on-campus industry practice facility, Exp-Up Station, to strengthen hands-on learning.

The university's in-house entertainment platform, THE KING Entertainment, will serve as the hub for a structured pathway into the cultural content industry, covering auditions, on-site projects, casting, employment and debut support.

Daegyeong also plans to introduce a College of Cultural Content Convergence and an AX (AI transformation)-based school system, establishing a cross-disciplinary academic framework that goes beyond departmental boundaries.

"We will further advance our specialization in cultural content and, through convergence with AI and biotech, leap forward as a bio-entertainment university representing South Korea," President Lee Chae-young said.

Meanwhile, Daegyeong operates two campuses: its main campus in Gyeongsan and a Namyangju campus offering 10 departments, including performance arts, K-model acting, K-practical music and AI sports analytics.
