Company supports exhibition and sales of goods from vocational rehabilitation facilities for people with disabilities
Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Fuel is leveraging a regional festival to help expand market access for products made by people with disabilities and to boost the local economy.
The company said it will support the sale of goods from local vocational rehabilitation facilities for people with disabilities at the 2026 Ganggyeong Salted Seafood Festival, to be held in Nonsan, South Chungcheong Province, from Thursday through Sunday.
The initiative aims to raise awareness of products made by workers with disabilities and open new sales channels through one of the signature festivals of Nonsan, a region experiencing population decline.
Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Fuel donated 3 million won ($2,240) to Nonsan Balgeurai Ilteo, a vocational rehabilitation facility for people with disabilities, to support the production of eco-friendly soaps and air fresheners. The facility plans to display and sell the products on-site during the festival, introducing them to visitors.
"It is meaningful that so many people will be able to see and experience products made by people with severe disabilities firsthand through this regional festival," company President Jeong Chang-jin said. "We will continue to strengthen cooperation with marginalized communities and fulfill our social responsibilities as a public enterprise."
