The Areumdaun Donghaeng volunteer group held a free jjajangmyeon (black bean noodle) sharing event Sunday at the welfare center parking lot in Daega-myeon, Seongju-gun, drawing about 200 elderly residents.
Volunteers prepared and served jjajangmyeon on-site at no charge and organized a range of programs, including a singing contest and cultural performances, to give attendees an enjoyable afternoon.
The group has made regular jjajangmyeon outreach a cornerstone of its community work, offering warm meals and festive gatherings to elderly residents as a way of practicing neighborly care. The event once again brought together carefully prepared food and a variety of performances, creating fond memories for attendees and spreading a culture of sharing throughout the community.
Seongju-gun County Chief Jeon Hwa-sik thanked the group for "preparing a heartfelt meal and a joyful time for the elderly residents of Daega-myeon," adding that he hoped "a culture of neighborly love and sharing will continue to spread widely across our community so that our elders can enjoy healthy and happy lives."
