Busan to host machinery, parts and steel job fair Tuesday

The Busan Economic Promotion Agency announced Monday it will hold the "2026 Machinery, Parts and Steel Sector 4th Job Fair & Mentoring" event at Hadan Layers Hotel on Tuesday, aimed at easing labor shortages at small and medium-sized enterprises in the machinery, parts and steel industries and boosting youth employment in the region.

Organized as part of the Ministry of Employment and Labor's regional specialized job creation support project, the event will feature six local companies from the machinery, parts and steel sectors looking to fill a combined 21 positions. The fair is being held in western Busan, where such firms are concentrated, with the goal of connecting companies' hiring needs with job seekers and providing on-site recruitment opportunities.

The event runs in three stages: tailored employment education, company-specific mentoring by current employees, and on-site interviews. The format is designed as a one-stop pipeline — helping job seekers build interview skills, deepen their understanding of participating companies and roles, and then take part in actual hiring interviews.

The employment education session will cover basic interview etiquette, mindset and key points for real-world interviews, preparing participants to engage more effectively in the mentoring and on-site interview stages that follow.

Six companies will take part in the employee mentoring sessions: Geonyang ITT, Gwangnim Marinetech, BN Steelra, Obok Electric, Iljin Precision Industry and Hwashin Bolt Industry. The on-site interview stage will consist of one-on-one hiring interviews between each participating company and job seekers.
