Lee Hyori opens up about challenges of running yoga studio: 'Showing up every day isn't easy'

Singer Lee Hyori has candidly shared the difficulties of running her yoga studio on Jeju Island.

According to Insight, Lee appeared Tuesday on the "Intermittent Hyori" segment of MBC FM4U's radio program "Lee Sang-soon's Perfect Day," where she gave an update on juggling the studio with her activities as a member of the girl group Fin.K.L.

She said she has been working through an intense rehearsal schedule as she prepares to take the stage with her Fin.K.L. bandmates.

"I've been teaching yoga classes and rehearsing at the same time, so I'm on the go nonstop from 5 a.m. until the afternoon," Lee said, describing her packed days. She added that she has been "rehearsing like crazy."

Lee said she tries to project a calm, disciplined image at the yoga studio but feels free to relax once she is in the rehearsal room. She added that she works to strike a balance between the persona she presents to her students and who she really is.

She also touched on the hardships of being a small-business owner. "Because I have another career, it's hard for me to fully understand what self-employed people go through," she said, "but showing up every day isn't easy, and the monthly bills give me a headache" — a reference to taxes and the general burden of running a business.
