The North Gyeongsang Provincial Police Agency held a ceremony Wednesday to mark the 81st Police Day.
Before the ceremony, senior officials visited the North Gyeongsang Police Memorial Park to pay their respects, honoring the sacrifice of officers who died in the line of duty serving the nation and its people.
The ceremony included commendations for meritorious officers and a recitation of the Police Charter.
The Police Charter, established in 1991, sets out the fundamental principles and values of the police force, enshrining five ideals: righteous, diligent, courteous, clean and fair policing.
Commissioner Park Heon-su urged officers to recognize the gravity of the current moment and to conduct policing that meets the public's expectations. "Please do your utmost to protect the lives and safety of residents through swift initial response and speed-focused policing, as well as through three-way communication when handling cases," he said.
