10 events held at apartments, parks
Health checkups, lifestyle and cultural activities on offer
Seoul's Seocho-gu announced Friday that more than 4,300 residents took part in its "2026 Smart Health Experience Center" mobile public health program, which completed 10 rounds of events this year.
The program is Seocho-gu's flagship community health initiative, designed to bring public health services directly to residents who have difficulty visiting a local health center. It offers free, personalized health services — including blood pressure, blood sugar and bone density checks, body composition measurements, exercise consultations, posture assessments, foot pressure tests, and smoking cessation and stress counseling. This year's circuit ran from Seocho Raemian Apartment in April through Yangjae Neighborhood Park, where it wrapped up Tuesday.
This year, the district added a scalp health and relaxation experience for the first time and expanded cross-department collaborative programs, including a virtual reality safety experience, a mobile toy repair center and a young artists' concert. In all, more than 30 booths were on offer, including a hands-on CPR kiosk station.
Building on this year's results, the district plans to expand AI- and digital technology-based smart health management services in 2027. It will introduce data-driven health experience content using AI smart kiosks to measure heart rhythm, eye health and stress levels, making it easier for residents to check their own health on the spot. The district will open applications for host venues in January, conduct a health center review in February and then select final locations before tailoring services to each neighborhood's characteristics.
To draw more participation from younger and middle-aged residents, the district will also introduce a stamp booklet. Participants who collect all five booth stamps will receive a commemorative gift, and the booklet will include a QR code linking to district information so residents can easily access updates.
"The Smart Health Experience Center is a community-centered service that brings the public health center into residents' everyday spaces, where they can manage their health and receive professional consultations," Seocho-gu District Mayor Jeon Seong-su said. "We will continue to look after residents' health up close and spare no effort in supporting a healthier Seocho for everyone."
