The Carbon Neutrality Clean Energy Industry Association will hold its inaugural ceremony and signboard unveiling at the Bukpyeong Industrial Complex cultural center in Donghae on Monday, marking the start of its formal operations.

The Bukpyeong Industrial Complex is slated to host a hydrogen storage and transport cluster as well as an AI data center. It also sits near the Samcheok Hydrogen Specialized Industrial Complex. Samcheok and Donghae were a single administrative zone until 1979.

The association, incorporated as a nonprofit, was established to promote technology exchange in the clean energy sector, support the growth of related industries, and build a cooperative framework among companies, research institutions and other stakeholders.

About 50 people are expected to attend, including Donghae Mayor Lee Jeong-hak, Donghae City Council Speaker Park Ju-hyeon, Donghae Chamber of Commerce and Industry Chairman Kim Gyu-tae, association officials and local business leaders.

The program will include a presentation on the association's mission and vision, the signboard unveiling, and a board meeting and extraordinary general assembly.

Going forward, the association plans to facilitate information sharing and technology cooperation among clean energy companies, and to identify collaborative projects suited to the region's industrial conditions.
