North Gyeongsang Province and North Gyeongsang Technopark announced Tuesday that the "2026 National Technology Commercialization Expo K-TECH Connect" concluded successfully at the Hilton Hotel in Gyeongju on Thursday and Friday, drawing industry, academic, research and financial stakeholders from home and abroad.
The expo, hosted by North Gyeongsang Province and organized by North Gyeongsang Technopark, drew strong interest, with more than 350 participants from 149 institutions and companies nationwide registering to attend.
Throughout the event, a range of programs were offered, including one-on-one technology consultations and investment partnering sessions between domestic and international universities, research institutions and companies, exhibitions and presentations of promising commercialization technologies, and networking among technology commercialization organizations nationwide.
The most significant outcome of this year's expo was the direct connection of public-sector technologies with corporate demand, leading to the signing of technology transfer agreements on site.
A total of four technology transfer agreements were concluded at the event.
On the second day, a technology commercialization council convened to foster nationwide collaboration in identifying corporate technology needs.
The council brought together technology commercialization stakeholders from technoparks, universities and research institutions across the country to share regional cases of matching corporate technology demand with public-sector technologies. Participants also discussed joint cooperation plans for inter-regional technology collaboration and follow-up support programs linking R&D, demonstration and commercialization efforts.
Ha In-seong, president of North Gyeongsang Technopark, said the organization would continue to expand its industry-academia-research-finance cooperation framework centered on corporate technology needs, and would actively work to position North Gyeongsang Province as an innovation hub leading technology commercialization across South Korea.
