Damyang-gun will hold the 8th Damyang Santa Festival at Metasequoia Land from Dec. 24 to Dec. 25.
This year's festival, themed "Christmas Bound for Damyang," will blend winter scenery at Metasequoia Land with performances, hands-on activities and nighttime light displays, creating a winter celebration for families, couples and visitors of all ages.
On the opening night of Dec. 24, a "Merry Christmas Eve" concert featuring Melomance's Kim Min-seok and singer Kim Hyun-jung will take the stage, followed by a fireworks and laser show. Dec. 25 will feature carol performances, a bubble show and a magic show, offering entertainment for the whole family.
This year the festival has also prepared a special proposal event for couples. Applications will be accepted in November, with three couples selected to participate; the couple chosen for the most memorable story will receive a surprise event with Melomance's Kim Min-seok.
The festival grounds will also feature a Santa House, a Santa workshop, a Christmas market, winter food stalls and nighttime illuminations throughout the venue. Some hands-on programs will require advance registration, which opens in November.
"We are preparing a festival that captures the excitement and romance of Christmas against the beautiful winter backdrop of Metasequoia Land, so that everyone can enjoy it together," Damyang-gun Mayor Park Jong-won said. "We hope you will visit Damyang this winter with your loved ones and create warm, happy Christmas memories."
