Gunwi-gun visited the Daegu-North Gyeongsang Free Economic Zone Authority on Monday to meet with its commissioner, Jeong Hae-yong, and discuss ways to cooperate on revitalizing the local economy and fostering future growth industries.
The visit was arranged ahead of large-scale development projects — including construction of the Daegu-North Gyeongsang integrated new airport and the relocation of military units — as the two organizations sought to lay the groundwork for Gunwi-gun's future growth and explore avenues for collaboration.
The two sides exchanged views on major local projects, including the development of an economic zone linked to the new airport, the Gunwi Sky City development, the establishment of Gunwi's first advanced industrial complex, and efforts to attract investment from domestic and foreign companies.
They also agreed on the importance of nurturing high-tech industries in connection with the new airport and creating a business-friendly investment environment, and discussed a range of potential cooperation opportunities that could leverage Gunwi-gun's development potential.
"We will maintain close communication with the Daegu-North Gyeongsang Free Economic Zone Authority and work together actively to build a vibrant Gunwi-gun that draws businesses and people," Gunwi-gun Mayor Kim Jin-yeol said.
