Businessman and YouTuber Eun Hyeon-jang accompanied court officers to a forced execution at the Seoul office of Gaseyeon, a YouTube channel known for aggressive political commentary, and attached seizure notices to its assets.
On Sunday, Eun posted a video to his YouTube channel titled "Went and attached forced seizure notices to Gaseyeon's killer filming equipment."
In the video, Eun said he received a power of attorney from attorney Kim So-yeon related to a bond claim and attended the forced execution at Gaseyeon's office in Bongcheon-dong, Seoul, as an authorized witness. The visit was part of debt-collection proceedings Kim filed against Gaseyeon chief Kim Se-eui over unpaid legal fees.
Attorney Kim, who holds conservative views, had worked with Gaseyeon on various activities over several years, but a dispute emerged after Kim Se-eui stopped paying her fees. She has said Kim Se-eui owes her about 120 million won ($90,600) in unpaid retainer fees and had previously filed for forced execution and an auction of a Hanyang apartment in Apgujeong, Seoul, registered in Kim Se-eui's name.
In Eun's video, court enforcement officers attached seizure labels to tangible assets at the Gaseyeon office, including computers, more than 10 monitors, lighting equipment and other key broadcasting gear.
After the forced execution, a seizure notice could be seen affixed to a laptop during one of Gaseyeon's live broadcasts. A Gaseyeon representative said during the broadcast, "I really couldn't believe a person could go this far."
Eun said he plans to return with an appraiser to assess the value of the seized items, including the computers and cameras.
Kim Se-eui is standing trial after being indicted and detained on charges including defamation for allegedly spreading false claims that actor Kim Soo-hyun had dated actor Kim Sae-ron when she was a minor. Police concluded through their investigation that the chat logs Kim Se-eui presented as evidence of the relationship had been fabricated.
