Ansan Mayor Lee Min-geun announced Wednesday on social media that he had held an early-morning policy meeting with Gyeonggi Province Assembly members to discuss the city's key pending issues.
Lee said the gathering covered 10 major agenda items — including plans to put the Ansan Line railroad underground, expand the metropolitan transit network through the GTX-C route, redevelop aging planned cities and strengthen the competitiveness of industrial complexes — as well as 26 projects requiring special adjustment grants.
"The meaningful achievements Ansan has made — including being selected as a pilot project for the Ansan Line underground railroad and being designated a Gyeonggi economic free zone — were made possible by the steadfast support of the Gyeonggi Province Assembly members," Lee said. "When it comes to Ansan's development and the well-being of its residents, there is no room for the ruling and opposition parties to stand apart. I believe that regardless of party affiliation, we all share the same commitment to the people."
Lee added that he was grateful to the lawmakers for joining the meeting at such an early hour, and pledged to continue working closely with the Gyeonggi Province Assembly to resolve local issues and secure funding.
