Chipotle's second Korea location draws 100-plus waiting groups at Shinsegae Gangnam

S&C Restaurant Holdings, the Korean operator of Chipotle, said Friday that more than 100 groups had registered on the waiting list from the first day the chain's second Korean location opened.

The Gangnam Shinsegae store — Chipotle's second location in Korea and second in Asia — opened Wednesday at Sweet Park, a dessert specialty zone on the first below-ground floor of Shinsegae Department Store's Gangnam branch.

The 98-seat restaurant was designed as a fast-casual dining space with a refined yet relaxed atmosphere, reflecting the character of Sweet Park.

To reduce wait times, S&C offers a pickup order service through its app. The new store also runs a digital queue system: customers register their wait on a tablet and receive a notification 10 minutes before their table is ready.

S&C plans to open a third domestic location before the end of the year and enter the Singapore market in the first half of next year.
