North Gyeongsang Province Technopark and the Korea Transportation Safety Authority have joined forces to cultivate talent for the future urban air mobility industry.
North Gyeongsang Province Technopark co-hosted the "2026 UAM Future Talent Development Open Seminar" with the Korea Transportation Safety Authority on Friday at the main stage on the second floor of Gumico (Gumi Convention Center).
The seminar was designed to deepen understanding of the urban air mobility (UAM) industry among university and graduate students as well as the general public, while offering opportunities to explore education and career paths in the future air mobility sector.
The event drew particular interest from young people as it was held in conjunction with the career day of the "2026 Aviation, Defense and Logistics Expo (GADLEX 2026)," which ran from Wednesday through Friday.
The seminar featured three expert lectures from UAM industry professionals.
Cha Bong-geun, a department head at Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI), spoke on the current state of the domestic UAM industry and aircraft development; Han Jong-ho, a team leader at the Korea Automotive Technology Institute, addressed AAM-related technologies and certification; and Kang Gwang-cheon, a senior researcher at Hanwha Systems, presented on the development of UAM traffic management systems.
Each session included a question-and-answer segment, giving attendees the chance to address questions on all aspects of the UAM industry — from aircraft development and certification to traffic management — and to engage directly with field experts.
Ha In-seong, president of North Gyeongsang Province Technopark, said the seminar was intended to give young people in the region a closer look at the future air mobility field and help them map out their career paths. "We will continue to share the expertise of our industry-academia-research networks and public institutions with local communities, and work to nurture the future talent that will lead North Gyeongsang Province's UAM industry," Ha said.
