- Chamber collaborates with Chungnam National University, Hanbat National University and Hannam University on IR sessions and job-placement support
The Daejeon Chamber of Commerce and Industry has partnered with local universities to promote outstanding regional companies and give students a path to employment.
The chamber announced Tuesday that it is running a corporate IR and company-visit program in partnership with Chungnam National University, Hanbat National University and Hannam University.
Building on MOUs signed with the universities, the chamber organizes IR sessions and company tours each year. This semester, 14 regional companies spanning machinery and manufacturing, information and communications technology, and food industries are taking part.
Hannam University hosted two IR sessions — on Oct. 26 and Monday — featuring six companies, including BNF Technology, Ercohs Agricultural, Jinhap and Heli Korea. Representatives from each firm introduced their core businesses, job functions and hiring processes, then fielded questions from students about career opportunities.
Company tours are also on the schedule. On Monday and Nov. 16, students will visit Contromax and Space Solution, respectively, to tour key facilities and work sites and speak with staff to deepen their understanding of day-to-day operations.
"There are many companies in the region with strong technology and competitiveness, but they are often not well known to students," Daejeon Chamber of Commerce and Industry Chairman Jeong Tae-hee said. "Students who attended the sessions said they came away with a concrete understanding of job roles, hiring information and welfare systems at local companies they had previously had little exposure to, and their satisfaction was high."
"Going forward, we will continue working with local universities to raise awareness of outstanding companies and actively support efforts to turn young people's interest in regional firms into actual employment," Jeong added.
