Air Busan announced Wednesday that it has topped the low-cost carrier category in the 2026 Korean Standard-Service Quality Index (KS-SQI), achieving a record 10 consecutive years at No. 1 in the segment.

The KS-SQI is a leading service quality and customer satisfaction index jointly developed by the Korean Standards Association and Seoul National University's Business Research Institute. Air Busan received the highest score in 11 of the index's 12 evaluation categories, which cover service accuracy, friendliness and ease of use, among others.

Marking its 19th anniversary, Air Busan has pursued higher customer satisfaction around three core values: perfect safety, convenient service and practical pricing. Those efforts helped the airline become the only South Korean carrier to earn a "very excellent" rating in both domestic and international operations in the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport's 2025 Air Transport Service Evaluation — released in April — with the international segment notching the top rating for 10 consecutive years.

The airline has also consistently worked to improve the customer experience. It operates the only airport lounge among domestic low-cost carriers, has begun using the new international terminal at Gimhae Airport and relocated to Terminal 2 at Incheon Airport, and is expanding its fleet with next-generation eco-friendly aircraft to create a more comfortable travel environment.

In addition, Air Busan holds a monthly service improvement committee to analyze key customer feedback and the root causes of complaints, then actively incorporates the resulting improvement tasks into its on-site service quality efforts.

"The achievement of 10 consecutive years at No. 1 is the result of the trust our customers have placed in Air Busan and the dedication of all our employees," an Air Busan official said. "We will continue to listen to our customers and consistently raise the quality of our overall service so that we can establish ourselves as an airline that customers trust and choose."

Meanwhile, Air Busan is rolling out a range of marketing activities to expand its customer reach ahead of the launch of a new Busan–Guangzhou route on Dec. 2, including an inaugural promotional campaign.

The promotion runs through Nov. 16. Tickets are available from 149,900 won ($112) per one-way all-inclusive fare — covering fuel surcharges and airport facility fees — with the travel period running from the inaugural flight on Dec. 2 through March 26 next year.
