Netmarble rowing team wins 21 medals at national para-rowing competition

The Netmarble Rowing Team claimed 21 medals at the national para-rowing championships, continuing a run of strong results since the gaming company became the first in its industry to establish a para-rowing team in 2019.

The Netmarble Culture Foundation announced Sunday that the team won 21 medals — 12 gold, 7 silver and 2 bronze — at the 2026 Seoul Mayor Cup National Para-Rowing Competition, held May 29-30 at Misa Gyeongjeong Park Rowing Stadium.

The competition was hosted by the Seoul Metropolitan Association of Sports for the Disabled and organized by the Seoul Metropolitan Disabled Rowing Federation and the Korea Disabled Rowing Federation. It featured 17 events spanning on-water and indoor disciplines across gender categories — men's, women's and mixed — and disability classifications including physical, visual and intellectual impairments.

Individual medal tallies were: Kang Yi-seong (2 gold, 1 bronze), Kang Hyeon-ju (3 gold), Bae Ji-in (1 gold, 2 silver), Lee Bong-hee (1 gold, 1 silver, 1 bronze), Lee Seung-ju (1 silver), Jeon Seung-bo (1 gold, 1 silver), Chu Yeon-hee (2 gold, 1 silver), Han Eun-ji (1 gold, 1 silver) and cox Seo Ha-gyeong (1 gold).

Han Eun-ji was named MVP of the indoor events, while Kang Yi-seong and Kang Hyeon-ju each received an outstanding athlete award.

"I had an injury last year, but the steady support I received allowed me to focus on rehabilitation, and I'm glad that hard work translated into good results this year," Kang Yi-seong said.

The Netmarble Culture Foundation established the rowing team in 2019 to promote para-sports and support the long-term independence of athletes with disabilities — a first for the gaming industry.

The team has posted strong results at competitions since its founding. At the 45th National Para-Sports Festival held in November, the team won 12 medals.
