LG Uplus launches Korea's first YouTube-Google AI bundle at 29,000 won a month

LG Uplus will become the first carrier in South Korea to offer a combined YouTube Premium and Google AI Pro subscription, giving customers access to both platforms for as little as 29,000 won ($19) a month.

The company said it will launch the "YouTube Premium + Google AI Pro" bundle on Tuesday.

The package is the first in the country to link a generative AI subscription with ad-free YouTube viewing in a single digital bundle. Customers can sign up through Yudok, LG Uplus's subscription service platform.

The key selling point is that customers get YouTube Premium at no extra cost on top of the 29,000 won monthly fee for Google AI Pro — roughly 34 percent cheaper than subscribing to each service separately. LG Uplus members with VIP-tier or higher membership can apply a 4,000 won discount coupon through the "VIP Kok" benefit, bringing the monthly price down to 25,000 won. LG Uplus said it developed the bundle after noticing a shift in customer behavior toward consuming video content and using AI tools at the same time. The product targets users — including creators — who want to watch content while extracting real-time insights or generating images with AI.

YouTube Premium enhances content immersion by offering ad-free video playback, background play, offline downloads and YouTube Music.

Google AI Pro delivers an advanced AI experience powered by the latest Gemini 3.1 Pro engine. Customers can generate text and images, use the "Deep Research" feature — which autonomously analyzes large volumes of information and compiles comprehensive reports — and maximize productivity through integration with Google Workspace apps such as Gmail and Docs.

The bundle also includes Google One 5TB cloud storage shared among up to six users — the account holder and up to five family members — covering everything from media consumption and smart work to data management.

LG Uplus said it will expand its digital service offerings in partnership with global partners including Google and YouTube, while continuing to sharpen its service competitiveness by lowering the cost burden on customers. The company also plans to strengthen its AI-based capabilities across infrastructure and platform services, going beyond traditional telecommunications.
