Wide-body service features 18-seat cabin, flatbed seats
Parata Air is stepping up its service competitiveness with a "Business Smart Class" cabin designed to offer a differentiated premium travel experience that sets it apart from conventional low-cost carriers. The airline announced Monday that the product operates aboard its wide-body Airbus A330-200.
The Business Smart Class cabin seats 18 passengers in a dedicated space configured in a 2-2-2 layout, with each seat measuring 20.5 inches wide. Seat pitch reaches 74 inches (about 188 centimeters), and a flatbed function allows passengers to lie flat for comfortable rest on long-haul flights.
The cabin comes with a range of premium services: access to a dedicated lounge, priority boarding and priority baggage handling. At select destinations, including Tokyo's Narita Airport, passengers can also use an expedited immigration service.
Since its launch, Parata Air has focused on service differentiation over price competition. The airline offers a complimentary signature drink called "Peach on Board," wider-than-standard seat pitch and a signature in-flight meal across its cabin products. The Business Smart Class is part of that same strategy, the airline said.
The approach appears to be paying off. Parata Air posted an international load factor of 92.1 percent in April, topping all South Korean carriers for two consecutive months.
Meanwhile, Parata Air plans to run special promotions on its Japan and Vietnam routes to give more customers a chance to experience the Business Smart Class.
The promotion covers four routes from Incheon — to Tokyo, Sapporo, Da Nang and Hanoi. One-way all-in fares start at 468,200 won (about $310) for Tokyo and 449,200 won for Sapporo, while Da Nang and Hanoi routes start at 650,000 won.
