Honam University has been selected for the Ministry of Unification's 2026 second-semester "Unification Lecture Project for University Students" for the 11th consecutive year, the Gwangju-based university announced.
Twelve universities nationwide were chosen for the project. Nam Ji-yeon, a professor at the university's AI Liberal Arts College, will serve as lead professor for a course titled "Peaceful Coexistence and the Future of the Korean Peninsula," covering topics including international politics, the history of Korea's division, healthcare, disaster response and cooperation, economic issues, the low birth rate, crimes against North Korean defectors, and inter-Korean exchange.
The course will be conducted in a team-teaching format with Chosun University and the Korea Institute for National Unification, among the country's leading institutions specializing in unification studies.
