Oral cholera vaccine shipments resume in Q2, keeping annual targets on track; Phase 1 trial results for RSV and shingles vaccines expected by Q3; Alzheimer's vaccine IND filing planned for Q3; company to pursue tech licensing and co-development deals with global pharma at San Diego conference
EuBiologics is moving to accelerate global technology licensing and co-development of its next-generation premium vaccine pipeline, building on a steady earnings recovery in its public vaccine business.
The company said Tuesday it will participate in the BIO International Convention 2026 (BIO USA) in San Diego, where it will conduct global business development activities centered on its RSV, shingles and Alzheimer's vaccine programs.
EuBiologics posted record sales of approximately 150 billion won (about $99.3 million) and operating profit of approximately 60 billion won last year, the highest figures since the company's founding. Its flagship oral cholera vaccine series, Euvichol, saw exports slow temporarily early this year, but shipments of orders from international organizations resumed in earnest in the second quarter, putting the business back on a recovery track. The company said it expects to meet its annual business targets comfortably, given current order backlogs and supply schedules.
EuBiologics plans to reinvest revenue from its public vaccine business into its next-generation premium vaccine pipeline to secure future growth drivers. Its core assets — an RSV vaccine and a herpes zoster vaccine — recently completed domestic Phase 1 trials, with final clinical study reports expected in July and September, respectively. The company intends to target global markets with the RSV vaccine, designed for older adults, and the shingles vaccine, which it says offers competitive immunogenicity and production economics.
A new pipeline candidate, an Alzheimer's disease therapeutic vaccine, is also advancing. Preclinical studies confirmed meaningful immune responses and improvements in cognitive function, and the company plans to file an investigational new drug application with the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety for a Phase 1 trial in the third quarter.
At BIO USA, EuBiologics will be joined by a US-based specialist consulting firm it has contracted in advance and by Dr. Jonathan, chief technology officer of its US joint venture Eupop Life Sciences. The team plans to hold one-on-one partnering meetings with global pharmaceutical companies and major investors to discuss co-development, technology transfer and strategic investment.
The company is also preparing for rising global demand by pursuing construction of a third factory capable of producing vaccines and biopharmaceuticals using animal cell culture technology. EuBiologics aims to establish itself as a global vaccine specialist by 2030, with public vaccines and premium vaccines as its two core pillars.
"This year's BIO USA will be a turning point where we pursue concrete global deals, not just networking," a company official said. "The value of our innovative pipeline is not yet fully reflected in the market, and we will continue to enhance corporate value and shareholder value through clinical progress and global business development results."
