Bravo My Life, a media outlet dedicated to senior audiences, announced Tuesday it has published "Days Lived, Stories Bloomed," an anthology of winning entries from the second "My Bravo! Moment" personal essay contest.
"My Bravo! Moment" is a memoir writing competition designed to document and share the lives and memories of people aged 50 and older. This year's contest drew more than 380 submissions — roughly five times the number received last year.
The anthology features 22 winning pieces selected through blind judging. The essays cover experiences central to middle-aged and older life: longing for parents, retirement and business failure, moments of rebuilding after illness, and late-in-life challenges taken on for the first time. Though each story is different, they share a common message — that life goes on regardless.
The title "Days Lived, Stories Bloomed" reflects the idea that people who have each walked their own path look back on their lives, and that the memories and insights gathered along the way have blossomed into stories.
Cho Seong-gwon, director of the Future Planning Research Institute at Etoday PNC and chair of the judging panel, said "a good piece of writing stays with you long after you've finished reading it," adding that the anthology contains stories that will linger in readers' minds for a long time.
Shin Dong-min, chief executive of Etoday PNC, said each work carries "the wisdom shaped by time and the depth of a life fully lived," and pledged that Bravo My Life would continue to serve as a platform for uncovering and sharing the bright moments of people's lives.
Bravo My Life is a magazine targeting middle-aged and older readers, offering content across a range of topics — including health, finance and asset management, residential living, beauty and travel — to help seniors lead fulfilling and dignified lives in retirement.
