Samsung SDS partners with AI security firms to bolster cloud defenses

Samsung SDS is teaming up with AI security companies at home and abroad to strengthen its defenses across AI and cloud environments. The initiative aims to counter cyber threats fueled by advances in AI while supporting enterprise customers through every stage of security — from prevention to response and recovery.

Samsung SDS announced Wednesday that it will deepen its AI-based cloud security capabilities through partnerships with XBOW, a US AI security startup, and Tatum Security, a South Korean cloud security firm.

Through collaboration with these AI security specialists, Samsung SDS plans to upgrade its security framework across three areas: AI-based vulnerability detection, integrated cloud security monitoring, and security incident response. The company also aims to help enterprise customers safely adopt and operate AI and cloud environments.

In partnership with XBOW, Samsung SDS will expand AI-driven vulnerability detection services for enterprise customers. Founded in 2024, XBOW drew wide attention in June last year when it outpaced human hackers in speed and accuracy on HackerOne, the world's largest bug bounty platform.

Samsung SDS plans to use XBOW's AI technology to conduct simulated cyberattacks, quickly and precisely identifying vulnerabilities in customers' web services and information assets. The company will then carry out remediation and follow-up measures based on the findings.

By proactively addressing vulnerabilities, Samsung SDS said it can ensure stable service availability and reduce the likelihood of security incidents, minimizing both legal and fiscal exposure for customers.

Alongside this, Samsung SDS will strengthen integrated security monitoring for multi-cloud environments through its partnership with Tatum Security. Founded in 2020, Tatum Security specializes in unified management and visualization of major public and private cloud service providers, including AWS, Azure and GCP.

Using Tatum Security's technology, Samsung SDS will provide enterprise customers with integrated security monitoring and visibility across their cloud assets. Customers will be able to assess the security status of multiple cloud assets at a glance and identify anomalies and risk factors early to prevent security incidents. Samsung SDS also plans to expand the scope of the partnership to include cloud access and permission management services and joint development projects.

In addition, Samsung SDS will strengthen its incident response capabilities before and after security events in its role as a managed security service provider. The move comes as increasingly sophisticated cyber threats have made rapid analysis, response and recovery all the more critical when incidents occur.
