Practical sessions cover shared equipment use and nutrition labeling for freeze-dried strawberry chips
Damyang-gun said Wednesday it recently held a "Damatto Strawberry Chip Commercialization Education" session at its agricultural technology center for 25 members of the Damyang Agricultural Cooperative.
The training was designed to standardize the quality of freeze-dried strawberry chips made entirely from locally grown Damyang strawberries, with the aim of raising farm household income and increasing the added value of processed agricultural products.
Sessions focused on the practical knowledge strawberry farmers need to produce and sell freeze-dried strawberry chips at the county's agricultural processing center.
The curriculum covered strawberry raw material management, rapid freeze-drying techniques and nutrition labeling requirements.
Participants also gained hands-on experience with small-package operations in 15-gram, 30-gram and 50-gram sizes, as well as how to operate a horizontal band sealer, sharpening their ability to apply the skills on site.
