The US military said Wednesday it had launched additional strikes against Iran.
US Central Command (CENTCOM), which oversees American forces in the Middle East, announced on X (formerly Twitter) that it had "initiated additional self-defense strikes against multiple targets inside Iran" at 5:15 p.m. Eastern time Wednesday, or 6:15 a.m. Korean Standard Time Thursday.
CENTCOM did not disclose the specific facilities or locations targeted. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth had earlier indicated that Iran's "key facilities" would be among the targets.
CENTCOM said the strikes were "a response to Iran's unjust and continued provocations."
