Travel agency joins stablecoin payment PoC as validator, extending earlier tests beyond travel products to e-commerce platform Poppop and checking transaction stability across the full payment cycle
Moduтour said Friday it participated as a validator — a node that verifies and approves transactions on a blockchain network — in a proof-of-concept test of stablecoin payment technology conducted on Poppop, an e-commerce platform, confirming the transaction stability and processing accuracy of the payment infrastructure.
The latest verification builds on an earlier proof-of-concept the company ran using its own travel products. Where the first round tested whether stablecoin payments could be integrated at the merchant level for Moduтour travel products, this round expanded the company's role to that of a validator, examining the integrity of the payment infrastructure itself.
The test, conducted on BEATOZ's hybrid blockchain technology, had Poppop simulate a product-purchase and payment environment.
"We confirmed that our regulation-friendly hybrid blockchain and the CPG — cryptocurrency payment processing system — solution co-developed with Ringnet can be extended as payment infrastructure across a wide range of industries beyond travel and finance," BEATOZ CEO Lee Sang-guk said. "We will continue to advance the technology to a commercial-grade level in line with regulatory changes."
Moduтour joined the test alongside Hana Financial TI and Ringnet as validators on BEATOZ's public testnet — a simulated network used to trial blockchain software — checking for delays or errors across the entire cycle from product selection through payment approval to merchant settlement.
The verification was designed so that stablecoin payments run on top of a user experience similar to conventional credit and debit cards. Using BEATOZ's CKYC module — a merchant identity verification and regulatory compliance system — the test also linked merchant verification procedures with the payment and settlement process, confirming that digital asset delivery, fee deduction and final settlement after payment are handled transparently.
The exercise is considered significant for cross-validating whether the same payment infrastructure operates in a general e-commerce environment as well as in travel. Moduтour assessed the broad industrial applicability of a stablecoin-based digital payment infrastructure. The company plans to continue verifying the reliability and scalability of a digital payment environment spanning travel booking, payment, refunds and partner settlement.
"This verification was about confirming that the stablecoin payment infrastructure works reliably not just in travel but also in general e-commerce," Moduтour President Woo Jun-yeol said. "We participated as a validator to proactively check the reliability and scalability of the infrastructure as part of our effort to advance the digital payment environment covering booking, payment and settlement."
